Krista Jahnke is a writer and strategic communications leader from metro Detroit.

Very much not metro Detroit, but the most beautiful place visited in 2025, Big Sur, CA.

Krista Jahnke’s writing has appeared in Raleigh Review, X-R-A-Y Literary Magazine, The Northwest Review, Peatsmoke Journal and elsewhere. She is a 2022 alumna of the Tin House Writers Workshop and of the 2025 Orion Environmental Writing Workshop. Formerly a sports and features writer with the Detroit Free Press, Krista has spent the last 13 years as a communications leader in the nonprofit sector. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University and a certificate in Social Impact Storytelling from Georgetown University. She serves on the boards of The Communications Network and the Berkley Education Foundation.

She lives with her husband, two teenage sons, Beaker the brown dog and Linguini the white cat outside of Detroit.
